Scope & Content
File contains images related to the "Image Bank". Image Bank was established in 1969 by Michael Morris and Vincent Trasov. Image Bank was an international network of artists exchanging and communicating ideas, ephemera, information, research, and images through the postal system. The Image Bank Postcard Show took place at the Fine Arts Gallery (now the Morris and Helen Belkin Gallery) at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, in 1971. Morris and Trasov invited artists to send them postcards, in part to commemorate the 100th anniversary of picture postcards. The exhibition toured across Canada by the extension department of The National Gallery, Ottawa. File contains images predominantly of postcards, reproduced images, illustrations, and advertisements. All images have been annotated "Image Bank Western Front National Programme".
