Object Description
Item is a laminated copy of the front and back pages of Vol. 9 No. 10 of the San Francisco Bay Guardian (pages 1,2, 35, and 36), and a label removed from the frame the item was stored in. The back page features information about the upcoming Banana Olympics to be held on April Fool's day, 1975, including a list of events, prizes, performances, and instructions on how to participate in the events. The second page has a photo of participants in the 1974 Columbus Day Parade including other artists involved in the mail art network such as Heidi Svensgaard, Julie Griffith, Tammy Pierce, Terror 4th, Charlie Henshaw, Rebecca Halas, Paul Kinnick, Lee Ann Hittenberger, Steve Ward, Barbara Henshaw, Dorcus Cartright, Marsha Gonick, Andrew Oagus, John Renoir, Dadda Land, Katy Butler, Linda Nepote, Michael Rainbow, Mary Ann Buxton, Janna Svensgaard, Julie Geiger, Irene Dogmatic, Chel Svensgaard, Eric Feller, Beth Bodenstein, Becily Murphy, Mary Peanut, Carlos Cicatelli, Bruce Brugmann, Jenepher Stowell, Dan Brugmann, Anna Banana, Tina Svensgaard, Tim Mancusi, Mandy, Arnie Svensgaard, Merrill Shindler, Steve Cosby, and Art Orr Trash.
