Posters and prints series

Series consists of posters and prints collected by Anna Banana or made of materials collected as part of the Encyclopaedia Bananica collection, for her curated exhibition, Show Your Colours, and posters produced for the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria and Open Space exhibition of her work, 45 Years of Fooling with A. Banana. These include reproductions of newspaper and magazine articles, advertisements, posters, artwork and a few original works by Banana. Of Banana’s own works, series specifically includes reproductions and prints of Banana’s Mona Banana Smile Test (1973), Flag of Bananada (1983), Security Blanket (c. 2006), Vowels on Security Blanket (2007), Home of the Brave, Land of the Free (2009), Homage/Ray Johnson also known as Dear God! (c. 2012), and the original painting of Original, 100% Canadian (c. 1998). There are also materials featured in the Show Your Colours exhibition at the Arts, Sciences & Technology Centre (October – December 1983) in Vancouver, curated by Anna Banana. These include mail art from exhibition participants, posters, and other ephemera.
