- Object Description
- In World Flag, Antonia Hirsch continues to play with international systems, symbols and methods of measurement in her work, testing the limits of how a global society can be considered and represented. Commissioned for the 2009 exhibition Friends of the Divided Mind at the Royal College of Art (London), World Flag composed of over 200 national standards, encompassing all sovereign countries worldwide. In this universal flag, the designs of single nations blur and morph into one, destabilizing the hegemonic character of the national flag.
