- Object Description
- This stoneware jar was part of the Canadian Craft Museum’s (CCM) collection, having been donated by Susan Walker to the museum in 1996. When the CCM closed in 2002, the collection was transferred to the Museum of Vancouver (MoV). The MoV has accessioned some of the collection into their own and are now attempting to redistribute the remainder. The pot is marked with the Lowerdown Pottery stamp and is decorated in the typical style from Leach’s early years at the studio. It has a light brown glaze with an iron speckle throughout. The slip brushwork is a common motif of the artist’s and is sometimes referred to as foxglove or fern and grass.
