- Object Description
- Audrey Capel Doray’s themes of motion and transition, light and sound were in line with the West Coast’s artistic engagement throughout the 1960s when art was in conversation with emerging electronic technologies. Doray's works use luminous media and improvisation to evoke hypnotic and repetitive patterns out of the works. This work began after a visit to Savary Island, when Doray made compositions of patterns found in nature and merged her previous experiments with media’s hallucinatory and perceptual possibilities typical of sixties psychedelic film and artworks.
