- Object Description
- This is one of the earliest Shadbolt paintings in existence, and the most important from his early period. In 1937, he studied under Andre L'Hote, a minor cubist, while in Paris (where he also saw the World's Fair where Picasso's Guernica was on display). One can see the influence of his Paris studies in this painting.
