Peter Hujar

File consists of two folders containing a poster, a press release, an exhibition checklist, signs, contract, artist's biography, grant application, the guide for Gay Games III, Angles (August 1990), an article by Scott Watson, correspondence, a comment booklet, newspaper articles, and slides. The exhibition was organized by the Grey Art Gallery, New York University. The exhibition featured photographs by the artist, mostly taken in the 1970s and and 1980s in and around his East Village studio. His subjects included friends such as Divine, William Burroughs, Susan Sontag, and Candy Darling. The exhibition coincided with the Vancouver Gay Games, Celebration 90. The exhibition was shown at the UBC Fine Arts Gallery August 1 to September 15, 1990.
