Scope & Content
File consists of a press release, exhibition flyer, correspondences, catalogue list, signed loan agreement, and a comment booklet. The exhibition featured a selection of ninety images. The works were small, personal photographs which contained the halted stillness and the warmth of a turn-of-the-century photo album. Many of these images were portraits of contemporary artists and musicians, local and international: Phillip Glass, Laurie Anderson, Joe Strummer, Robert Rauschenberg, Eric Fischl, William Wegman, Robert Doisneau, Jim Cummins and Graham Gillmore to name a few. Accompanying these portraits were photographs of the places and people encountered by Art Perry while travelling in Costa Rica, France, Morocco, Spain, Portugal, and Italy since 1980. The exhibition ran February 8-March 18, 1989.
