File consists of three folders containing an exhibition catalogue, press release, an application for Exhibition Assistance for The Canadian Council, an exhibition catalogue from the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, condition reports, exhibition comment booklet, photocopies, photographs, negatives, and slides. The exhibition featured 21 recent paintings from the artist’s Life Jacket series. This exhibition constituted the first major solo exhibition in Vancouver of Lodge’s work since her departure to New York in 1979. In these works, Lodge frequently deployed heavily textured surfaces and a spatially rich yet ambiguous gold ground. The exhibition ran September 25-November 8, 1986.
