File consists of a press release, an exhibition pamphlet from the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, receipts, loan agreements, condition reports, and an exhibition comment booklet. The exhibition was curated by Elizabeth Brown from the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies and featured recent paintings by Allan MacKay. In 1985 MacKay began painting Variations on Hodler, a series of self-portraits in combination with reproduced self-portraits of Ferdinand Hodler. MacKay also used landscape works by the Swiss artist as playgrounds for his own imagination and creativity. The exhibition ran July 3-August 15, 1986.
