Scope & Content

Series contains records pertaining to the administration and financial management of the University Art Centre and Fine Art Gallery. Some records in this series relate to the administration of the newly formed Fine Arts department, with particular emphasis on the courses that were offered to students at this time. Those records that relate to the University Art Centre deal with the organization of exhibitions on yearly and monthly increments and any advertisement the centre may have received through various campus media. Records also relate to organizations the University Art Centre was affiliated with, such as the Canadian Association of Museum Directors Organization, Canadian Museum Association, and International Association of Art Critics.

Series consists of correspondence, minutes, terms of reference for the Extension Administration of the Fine Arts Committee, newspaper clippings, course booklets, the Art Centre official opening booklet, forms, reports, articles, account statements, handwritten notes, invoices, estimates, purchase orders, requisitions, memorandums, work orders, lists of expenses, and promotional material.
