Biography

Antonia Hirsch (b. 1968) is a German/Canadian artist and lives in Berlin. She was educated at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, London. From 1994 to 2010, she lived and worked in Vancouver.
Hirsch's work has been included in exhibitions at the Witte de With/Kunstinstitut Melly (Rotterdam), Tramway (Glasgow), ZKM (Karlsruhe), The Power Plant (Toronto), SFU Galleries (Burnaby), Vancouver Art Gallery, Contemporary Art Gallery (Vancouver), MIT List Visual Arts Center (Cambridge), Salzburger Kunstverein and Taipei Fine Arts Museum. Her works can be found in public collections such as that of the Vancouver Art Gallery, the National Gallery of Canada and the Sackner Archive for Concrete and Visual Poetry (Miami Beach). Her projects and texts have appeared in publications such as C-magazine, Fillip, The Happy Hypocrite and Triple Canopy. In addition to artist books, she published the anthology Intangible Economies (Fillip, 2012) and the reader Negative Space: Orbiting Inner and Outer Experience (SFU Galleries, 2015). From 2009 to 2015, she was Associate Editor at Fillip.
