Item is a series of mailings from cayc (centro de arte y comunicación) in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Coutts-Smith at St. Mary’s Rd., Winnipeg, lacking postmark date information but concerning exhibitions in 1977. The leaves consist of exhibition announcements for the Oeuvres de Jeunes Artistes d'Amérique Latine exhibition at Ecole Sociologique Interrogative in Paris (8 March 1977), an invitation to contribute to a 1977 World Association of Video-Makers and Editions (W.A.V.E), an exhibition flyer for the VI Encuentro Internacional exhibition at the Museo de Arte Contemporaneo (including the works of Fred Forest, Jacques-Louis Nyst, Roland Baladi, and Jean-Paul Thénot), a list of participators in the VII International Open Encounter on Video at the Fundació Joan Miró - Centre d’Estudis d’Art Contemporani CEAC in Barcelona (22-29 February 1977), a day listing of events for the same exhibition, CAYC’s Image and Words Open Proposal for Architects: travelling exhibition invitation, an explanation of the inauguration of the VII International Open Encounter on Video, a form for submitting video tapes to this exhibition, and an explanation of and participating artists list for the Latin America ’76 video exhibition held at the Fundació Joan Miró - Centre d’Estudis d’Art Contemporani CEAC in Barcelona.
