Object Description

Item is an announcement for an exhibition of works relating to tattoos, bondage, fashion, and other body arts at the Burnaby Art Gallery February 29 to March 26, 1972. Artists included: Audrey Doray (body image retention panels), Circus Leo (tattoo art), Claude Breeze (genetic man series), Evelyn Roth (sculptural wearables and recycled environment for living), Eduardo Paolozzi (the Conditional Probability Machine), General Idea (evidence of body binding), Gordon Yamamoto (body castings), Suki Anderson (anthropological research on body decoration). The exhibition also included medical illustrations by Nan Cheney, Fred Herzog, Victor Doray, Dr. M.J. Hollenberg, Margurite Drummond, Bruce Stewart, and the St. John's Ambulance First Aid manual.
