Object Description

Item is an uncut sheet of 16 postcards for the Image Bank Post Card Show. It is double-sided, with colour images on recto, and the postcard format printed on verso in blue ink. The verso postcard format uses the words "THE IMAGE BANK POST CARD SHOW" to create a divided back, with additional text and images different on each card, including text or image for stamp boxes; colour bars for printing are arrayed along the bottom recto. The 16 postcards are: "Greetings from Image Bank B.C." by Ant Farm, with the text "THIS IS A REAL PHOTOGRAPH" creating a divided back; a colour pencil drawing of three figures in front of a background with the words "very smart" repeated, titled "My O My fan club west" by Ant Farm; an image of a boy holding a giant slice of watermelon, stamped "CHICKEN BANK", by Sally Peanut; an image illustrating colour spectrums and refraction, presumably educational, and titled "Fill Spectrum–Rainbow"; a photograph of Glenn Lewis enacting Taping of the Critics, attributed to Morris/Lewis; a painted landscape of water, land, and a cloudy sky by Victor Roerich; a photograph of a neon sign in the shape of a mountain with stars above, and the words "MT. EVEREST" below, attributed to Bryce Thompson; a collaged cartoon image of a bound woman being kidnapped by a robot, titled "mossbrae falls at Shasta Springs" by Gary Lee Nova; a photograph of a sculpture of a cow in a field, titled "cow" and attributed to Peter Daglish; two postcards with stills from General Idea's LIGHT ON; a collage prominently featuring an official sign for Rat Portage Post, titled "Southern Pacific Sixteenth St. Station Oakland, California" by Gary Lee Nova; a photograph of a man's chest with a large tattoo of a full-rigged ship, attributed to P. C. Schmidtz; a photograph of a pizza shop advertising "PEPSI" and "REAL ITALIAN PIZZA", titled "Hero's Pizza" by Dave Rimmer; a split-colour photocollage of the Parliament Buildings, titled "Parliament Buildings, Ottawa" by Dr. Brute; a collage titled "ferry boat, contra costa" by Gary Lee Nova. Some of the postcards bear a printing stamp with text "PRINTED IN CANADA ON CANADIAN PAPER / beaverkolour".
