Object Description

Item is an issue of "IS" magazine, edited by Victor Coleman and George Bowering. Half of the issue is the "West Coast Writing" issue, with contributions from George Bowering, Judith Copithorne, David Cull, Brian Fawcett, Carole Fisher (Carole Itter), Dwight Gardiner, Gerry Gilbert, Phil Harmonic, Hank (Henry) Greenhow, Robert Hogg, Lionel Kearns, Susan Landell, Barry McKinnon, Norman Poole, Fred Wah, and Tom Wayman, with flip book illustrations by Al Neil. The other half of the issue is the "West Coast Art Issue", including the "Image Bank Excyclopedia Project", with reproductions of mail art and other materials produced by Image Bank, Intermedia, the New York Corres-Sponge Dance School of Vancouver, the New Era Social Club, and the John Dowd Fan Club. The cover photograph is attributed to Slim Flowers (Gerry Gilbert), and depicts Mr. Peanut (Vincent Trasov), Can.D.Man (Robert Fones), and Art Rat (Gary Lee-Nova).
