Object Description
Item is a box containing six book art objects assembled by poet Octavio Paz pertaining to Marcel Duchamp or reproducing his works. Includes: (1) "Octavio Paz: Marcel Duchamp o el castillo de la pureza" (book); (2) "Marcel Duchamp: Textos," translated by Tomas Segovia (book); (3) "El Gran Vidrio" (photographic reproduction printed on plastic, in a white card frame); (4) "Nude Descending a Staircase, No. 2" (1912), "La Mariee (the Bride)" (1912), and "The King and Queen Surrounded by Swift Nudes" (1912) (3 reproductions in colour, printed on card) (5) "Porte-bouteille" (1914), "Ready-Made, Girl with Bedstead" (1916-1917), "L.H.O.O.Q." (1919), "Cheque Tzanck" (1919), "Pharmacie" (1914), "Ready-Made Comb" (1916), "Fountain" (1917), "Ready-Made Ball of Twine" (1916), and "Ready Made, Why Not Sneeze Rose Selavy?" (1921) (envelope containing 9 reproductions of ready-mades in the size of postcards); (6) Un álbum fotográfico (stapled leaflet containing reproductions of photographs and Duchamp's handwriting, with a loose sheet of biographical data, and a cardboard stand-up photo of Duchamp).
