Object Description
The bat is the focal point in this two-channel film as the principal character, Lucifer, as well as in the related marionettes, Uncharismatic (see BG6367-BG6370). Given this particular moment in history, Dao sees the bat at the intersections of ecology, community and economy, pestilence (in particular, the Covid-19 pandemic) and good fortune, sight and sound as well as otherness and belonging.

The film is constructed around a poetic monologue narrated through written text on the screen by the bat marionette, Lucifer.
