Object Description

Item is a two-disc set of sound compositions and research conducted at the Simon Fraser University, Centre for Communications and the Arts. Additional text and essays are provided in the jacket sleeve.

CD I contains The Vancouver Soundscape 1973, a research project about "good and bad acoustic design in Vancouver", carried out by Howard Broomfield, Peter Huse, Colin Miles, Bruce Davis, and Hildegard Westercamp. The project was directed by R. Murray Schafer.

CD II contains Soundscape of Vancouver 1996, consisting of compositions created at the Sonic Research Studio at Simon Fraser University. It includes compositions by Darren Copeland, Sabine Breitsameter, Hans Ulrich Werner, Barry Truax, and Claude Schryer.
