- Object Description
- Ken Lum's Little Krista and Mr. Policeman is part of his Portrait-Logo Series, in which Lum explores how photographic references become stereotypes in individual representation. In billboard advertising, corporate typographic text establishes a sense of familiarity with the subjects in the photograph, proclaiming their identity and situation. Lum’s Portrait-Logo Series, which he began in 1984, uses the visual aspects and language of advertising to highlight the tension between marginalized subjects’ rights and those of society.
