- Casserole with strap handles, unflanged lid, thrown and cut lugged side handles. Bevelled recessed foot. Iron speckled dark red stoneware. Lustre glaze overall trapping carbon. Foot area unglazed. Body underfired or more likely shattered - has no ringing sound. -Charmian Johnson, 2005
