- Jar of waisted form slumped and cracked by heat, inset lid with pierced knob, medallion lugs at incurve of shoulders. Rib carved lower body squared and altered with diagonal paddle impressions (rope?) flat base. Grey stoneware burned to rich brown. Pot placed in kiln at burner port: interior glazed warm orange-green, exterior underglaze of manganese-iron-cobalt dark pigmented slip fusing matt black with salt glaze, side facing burner port fused thick green to yellow and black to brown. Multiple cracking during firing with subsequent epoxy seam over crack. -Charmian Johnson, 2005
