Object Description
This work consists of 49 triangular pieces of painting plywood. The 49 pieces are divided into 7 sets of 7 triangles. Each set is of a diminishing scale. The triangles are painted with leopard spots on both sides and edges. Each of the 7 sets start with the smallest triangle painted with black leopard spots over one of the colours of the prism (red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, magenta) on one side and the opposite for the other side (eg. coloured leopard spots over black background). As the triangles ascend in size within each set the colours become ligther and the blacks become more grey until the seventh triangle of each set is a neutral tone of its particular colour. The work is modular in form and can be display it a wide variety of stacking or laying out of the triangles; playing off of the diminishing sizes of the triangles and the tonal shifts of each colour.
