Object Description: Counterpoint was exhibited in the 1956 American Abstract Artists annual exhibition in New York, NY, which included a number of the Painters Eleven artists; working in a smaller scale than the others in the group, Gordon’s abstract work is characterized by ribbons of colour and geometric forms that nod to her particular interest in Cubism and Bauhaus concepts of design.
