Speculations

Item is an artists' book by Vancouver artist Ken Lum. Item includes a series of photographs of people on the street, accompanied by questions posed by the artist about their lives. The questions remain unanswered. The book then shifts the speculative gaze to the reader, asking questions such as 'what are you?', presented with gray squares instead of photographs.
