Object Description
Item is number eight of the magazine Art-Rite. The magazine was edited, written, and put together by artists Edit DeAk and Walter Robinson, and ran twenty one issues between 1973 and 1978. The magazine contained reviews of artists' work, poetry, and articles discussing modern art and art critics. Item includes articles featuring the following: a 'Polemic' on modern art by Edward Pursor, 'Cultural Imperialism, Provincialism, and The New Internationalism', a feature on Scott Burton and his furniture installations, an article about an Addi Koepcke exhibition at the Rene Block Gallery, 'A Serious Proposal for Nelson Rockefeller', a review of Yvonne Rainer's film 'Film About a Woman Who...', Anecdotes about Mazoni, Klein, Beuys, and Spoerri, an obituary of Jane Bowles, an overview of recent exhibitions in New York, the work of Steve Gianakos, and an article entitled 'Soup & Tart' featuring photographs of artists at recent events.
