Object Description
Item is number seven of the magazine Art-Rite. The magazine was edited, written, and put together by artists Edit DeAk and Walter Robinson, and ran twenty one issues between 1973 and 1978. The magazine contained reviews of artists' work, poetry, and articles discussing modern art and art critics. Item includes articles which feature the following: Vito Acconci, and his video art process, a short piece describing a walk in the countryside by Joan Jonas, the text of the video art piece Television Delivers People by Richard Serra, a narrative piece by art critic Bruce Kurtz, an excerpt of a book by David A. Ross, a biography of art critic Douglas David, the Bulletin for Film and Video Information newsletter, 'The Dipthong I', survey of video artists about their latest work, a work entitled Hello by Nam June Paik, videotapes as unique objects, videotapes as artistic medium, 'Rehearsal for 5 Hour Slump' by Dennis Oppenheim, the Castelli and Sonabend galleries and videotapes, a piece on psychoanalysis, a 'political statement' by Leon Golub, Nancy Kitchell and the medium of Television, Les Levine on "Artistic".
