Andrea Fraser

Andrea Fraser (American, b. 1965) is a Los Angeles-based performance artist engaged in the legacy of institutional critique. Her work explores and exposes complex art world dynamics, including those between art institutions, employees, artists, collectors, gallerists, patrons and audiences. Informed by feminism, postmodern theory, psychoanalysis and archival research, Fraser questions the economic, social and political functions of these relationships.
