Biography

Terry Reid was born in Canada and received his diploma from the Vancouver School of Art (now Emily Carr University) in 1965. Reid moved to Australia in 1973 and currently lives in Woolloomooloo, New South Wales. With Bob Kerr, Reid published the Canberra Telegraph, a mail art publication from the early 1970s.

From 1966 to 1968, Reid taught in Victoria, BC and later in Calgary, AB, before moving to Tokyo in 1970 where he spent two years establishing communication links between conceptualists and performance artists with Fluxus, the New York Correspondence School and Image Bank. In Australia he continued his artistic practice through an international correspondence network of artists, which including numerous zines, tabloids and other publications. During the 1990s, Reid returned for a time to Canada, spending time with Ed Varney and Anna Banana, in addition to publishing his writing in The Capilano Review.
