Scope & Content
File contains images related to the "Image Bank". Image Bank was established in 1969 by Michael Morris and Vincent Trasov. Image Bank was an international network of artists exchanging and communicating ideas, ephemera, information, research, and images through the postal system. The Image Bank Postcard Show took place at the Fine Arts Gallery (now the Morris and Helen Belkin Gallery) at the University of British Columbia in 1971. Morris and Trasov invited artists to send them postcards, in part to commemorate the 100th anniversary of picture postcards. The exhibition toured across Canada by the extension department of The National Gallery, Ottawa. The file contains images directly related to "Colour Research". "Colour Research" is a collaboration between Michael Morris and Vincent Trasov with the involvement of artists in the Intermedia movement in Vancouver, which features the "Colour Bar" in various urban and natural landscapes.
