Scope & Content

Subseries is composed of textual records, photographic prints, negatives, slides, and digital material related to Itter's exhibition Where the Streets are Paved with Gold, inspired by early immigrants in Itter's neighbourhood in Vancouver. It features an assemblage of gold-painted found objects spilling from the base of an antique organ. It was exhibited at the Vancouver Art Gallery from March 29 - May 20, 1991, at the Open Space Gallery in Victoria in January 1994 and at the Museum of Civilization in Quebec City in 2005. The installation now resides in the Canada Council Art Bank collection.
