Scope & Content
File consists of three folders containing a press release, receipts, correspondences, grant applications, curriculum vitae, the Sodomite Invasion Review (Winter 1993), newspaper articles, negatives, and slides. Six Canadian artists and the Persons With AIDS coalition were commissioned to produce six separate ten second spots for the pixillated signboards, located on either side of the BC Place Stadium in downtown Vancouver. The artists were General Idea, Persimmon Blackbridge (with Celeste George), Micah Lexier, Judy Radul (with Brice MacNeil) and Paul Wong. The works ranged from text-dissolves addressing AIDS in aboriginal communities, to birth and death dates suggestive of obituaries. The public art project acknowledged a Day Without Art and Worlds AIDS Day. The exhibition ran December 1-31, 1992.
