Scope & Content

File consists of two folders containing an exhibition catalogue, postcards, press release, correspondence, catalogue lists, newspaper articles, photographs, and slides. The exhibition featured Vancouver artists working in collage. Collage Show explored the ideology and media innovations that collage may take from image photo paste-ups, conscious manipulation of the image, sculptural assemblages, written expository, to tape recordings such as collage sound as well as video tape recordings and film investigations. The exhibition was organized by Chris Dikeakos, and featured works by bill bissett, Gilles Foisy, Gary Lee-Nova, Al Neil, Terry Reid, Gregg Simpson, Ed Varney, David UU, Jeff Wall, Ian Wallace, Marcel Dot (Michael Morris), and Mr. Peanut (Vincent Trasov). The exhibition was shown at the UBC Fine Arts Gallery March 23 to April 10, 1971.
