McLean's BC Centennial Collection

File consists of an exhibition poster, sign, and newspaper articles. The exhibition featured nine paintings commissioned by Maclean’s Magazine to celebrate the BC Centennial Year, and were reproduced in the issue of May 10, 1958. They were subsequently presented to the University of British Columbia and were part of the Brock Hall Collection of Canadian Painting. The artists included: Lawren Harris, Jack Shadbolt, Molly and Bruno Bobak, B.C. Binning, Edward Hughes, John Koerner, and Joe Plaskett. The exhibition was shown at the UBC Fine Arts Gallery February 3 to 21, 1959.
