Series consists mainly of records related to the three month long working and pleasure holiday taken by Balkind and Rogatnick through China in 1987-1988. These files include correspondence, receipts, notebooks, drafts of travel writing essays, clippings, notes about traveling experiences, and their travel itinerary. Series also includes collected clippings about travel articles and deals, as well as correspondence about the International Textile Competition in 1987 in Kyoto and ephemera.
