Scope & Content

Series consists of records that reflect the creation and exhibition of Vexation Island. Included are photographs and negatives taken while the work was filmed, crew lists and crew credits, budgets, typewriter script, grant applications, technical equipment information, floor plan of Canadian Pavilion layout, poster designs, correspondence, promotional materials, newspaper clippings, sketches, a wig from the costume, and other related material.

Vexation Island is a 10 minute loop, shot on 35 mm, but edited on video and presented on laser disc. The film was shot in The British Virgin Islands and consists of a "Robinson Crusoe" scenario in which Graham plays the hapless castaway.

Vexation Island was Canada's entry to the 1997 Venice Biennale, where it premiered in the Canadian pavilion.
