Scope & Content

Series consists of those cards selected by Curator, Peter White to be included in the It Pays to Play exhibition.

The exhibition showed over 2000 postcards, presented in groupings that allow the viewer to consider how certain ideas relate to 'place' and 'identity.' The categories include transportation, industry, leisure, landscape, Vancouver, architecture, and many others (see file/item list for details). Subject groupings were presented on Plexiglas panels, and arranged in vitrines. A large-scale slide projection of images also formed part of the exhibit.
