The second Artropolis exhibition, and the first show mounted by the A.T. Eight Artropolis Society, was entitled Artropolis 90: Lineages and Linkages and was held from October 19th to November 18th, 1990 at the Roundhouse, 1200 Pacific Boulevard at Davie Street. Approximately 24,000 people attended the exhibition, which contained the work of 190 artists. The multi-media show filled 27,000 square feet, utilizing the whole building during its conversion, demonstrating its usefulness as an exhibition space in advance of its opening as a cultural centre. Other spaces used for the exhibition were the Granville, Burrard, and Waterfront-Seabus BC Transit stations for "Artropolis 90 / In Transit," and the Roundhouse Big Top Performance Tent for "Living Art Beneath the Stars."

Artropolis 90's general theme was British Columbia artists' inter-generational networks of influence, style, and media; the show itself was to be a controlled random sample of BC artists and their concerns regarding the interaction and exchange between artists and the larger public. Two thirds of the works were peer selected by 22 artist/curators, the remaining third was chosen by three professional curators, and divided into "Open Submission" and "Performance" categories.

The A.T. Eight Artropolis Society personnel consisted of a board of directors, an advisory board and exhibition staff, including exhibition and community relations co-ordinators, and a head curator, as well as volunteers.
